Thorsten Reckerzügl is an environmental engineer and holds an MBA in sustainability management. He has over 22 years of experience in the WASH sector working in the humanitarian and the development field. He has worked for about 10 years as a technical expert, project and programme manager in Asia. For 12 years, he has been working at the headquarters of different organisations in project management and advisory services as well as capacity development on WASH and climate related topics in various countries. He is the co-lead of the climate working group of the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) as well as a member of the Global WASH Cluster Technical Working Group on Faecal Sludge Management (FSM TWiG) and the German WASH Network.
