Jutta is a water and sanitation engineer with more than 28 years of experiences in projects in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia and since 2007 working with decentraliced wastewater management (DEWATS) and FSM programs. She worked in Southeast Asia for a regional program to scale up DEWATS in a national program in Indonesia, that implemented more than 1500 decentralised treatment plants. Jutta developed for BORDA a global monitoring and evaluation system for DEWATS and FSM projects. In Sub Saharan Africa, she was the Regional Coordinator for the Africa Region for BORDA and responsible for the development of FSM and wastewater programs in Tanzania, Zambia, Lesotho, and South Africa. Jutta also implemented UNEP funded national guidelines on decentralised wastewater treatment in Tanzania and is an member in the DWA (Germany Water and Wastewater Association) working group to develop international guidelines on decentralised sanitation. In Indonesia, Guatemala, and Kosovo she implemented projects on emergency sanitation and faecal sludge management (FSM).
